Pre-sale passes are available to be sold by schools at the same prices listed above. Schools wishing to

pre-sell passes should contact the UHSAA office as soon as possible. Tickets may also be purchased

on-line using the link found on the UHSAA web-site:

Passes/Tickets Required by All

No one will be admitted without a ticket or pass. Schools are reminded to secure tickets for

cheerleaders, bus drivers, mangers etc. as they will not be admitted without a ticket.


The Following are Strictly Prohibited from the State Wrestling Tournaments:

a. large school flags, signs or banners of any kind including the type teams run through.

b. noisemakers of any kind such as whistles, cow bells, horns, pop guns etc.

c. balloons.

d. megaphones, either in the stands or used by cheerleaders.

e. confetti or shredded paper in the stands or on the floor.

f. fans wearing no shirts (fans must wear shirts at all times)

g. articles of any type thrown onto the floor.

h. photographers on the wrestling floor level except those representing the UHSAA or

credentialed media. No flash units are allowed on the floor level during wrestling. If flash units

are used at all they should be used from the stands. Only credentialed media representatives are

allowed on the floor.


2015 5A Wrestling Divisional Tournament Information

Division A: Fremont, Granger, Herriman, Hillcrest, Hunter, Jordan, Lehi, Northridge, Pleasant Grove, Riverton, Taylorsville, Weber, Westlake (@ Jordan HS, 95 E Beetdigger Blvd (approx. 9800 S), Sandy, UT)

Division B: Alta, American Fork, Bingham, Brighton, Copper Hills, Cottonwood, Davis, Layton, Lone Peak, Syracuse, Viewmont, West, West Jordan (@ Alta HS, 11055 S 1000 E, Sandy, UT)

The 5A Divisional Wrestling Tournaments will take place on February 6th and 7th at Alta and Jordan High Schools. Be sure to read all of the information so as not to be disappointed or surprised on the day of the tournament. Please be sure to inform your wrestlers, parents, and other fans of the following:


Classes will not be in session at either Alta or Jordan HS on Friday, February 6th. Parking should be available for all spectators interested in attending the event.

Please inform your parents and fans that parking will not be an issue, as limited parking has been a deterrent for spectators in years past.

Team/Wrestler Seating

The top 4 rows of each main bleacher section and top 2 rows of all other bleacher sections will be the designated seating area for teams/wrestlers. Please make sure your teams keep their bags in these designated areas.


First place team trophies will be awarded at each divisional. The top eight places will score, and all rounds will score. Medals will be awarded to the top six wrestlers in each weight class. The top eight will advance to State.


Cheerleaders are asked not to cheer lower than row 8 in the arena and not behind any scorer‘s table. Only eight cheerleaders are allowed at mat-side during finals matches. Please remind the cheerleaders that they may not touch the mats while cheering.

Friday Itinerary:

Weigh-in and skin checks at 10:00 a.m. (we will use the same weight allowance of the varsity tournament!).  We will have a 98-pound weight division and it will be 98 pounds for both days.  This weight class has been approved by the UHSAA for this event. Please plan on a skin check and have all papers ready for any athletes under treatment.

Wrestling will start at 1:00 p.m. on Friday and we will wrestle down to the Top 16 in each weight classification.  PLEASE NOTE THIS AND DON`T HAVE YOUR WRESTLERS LEAVE THE TOURNAMENT EARLY. We will suspend wrestling at 10:00 p.m. and have a preliminary round at 9:30 a.m. in the morning if we don`t get to this point.  We will use 8 mats for this event.

Saturday Itinerary:

Weigh-in at 8:30 a.m./Wrestling to start at 10:00 a.m. unless preliminary round is needed.
Parade of Champions (Top 6 placers) will be at 3:15 p.m. Championship finals will be at 3:30 p.m. on six mats.  When weights are completed we will start awarding medals (so keep your athletes around!). Our goal is to be done wrestling and presenting medals at 4:30 p.m.

The JV Rumble is a separate event from the varsity rumble. Entry fee is separate as well as spectator fees.  Parents that might have wrestlers in both the varsity event and JV event should expect to pay gate at both places.  Those wrestlers and coaches in uniform etc. should be able to travel to both events without hassle.

1- LIVE STREAM!!! We will be streaming the event through Track Wrestling`s new streaming software TrackCast. All information will be available when they login as a viewer to Track Wrestling. The cost will be $10 per stream for the tournament. Each mat will have a camera and will be available to viewers.

2- We will again have a photographer taking pictures. If your team or individual parents are interested in getting pictures of their wrestlers have them contact me via email.
